Giorgio De Santis (born in 1983 in Livorno, Italy) studied Modern Literature at University of Pisa. During his academic years, he discovered his passion for performing arts and started mixing it with his classical and electronic music education. He participated as sound designer and stage musician in many productions, mostly under the direction of noted italian opera and theater director Emanuele Gamba. Therefore he focused his studies in sound engineering at Accademia Nazionale del Cinema in Bologna and kept perfecting his approach in music composition and media installation for performing arts.
During the decades 2004/2014 he curated the sound for the productions of many directors, choreographers, exhibitions and multimedia installations in Italy, Spain, Germany, Poland. Productions he collaborated with get hosted in important international art festivals and spaces including Romaeuropa, Armunia Inequilibrio, Dorky Park, Kilowatt Festival.
From 2012 until 2015 he is the technical director of “Nuovo Teatro delle Commedie” in Livorno, a space for performing arts and theater in which he organized and curated concerts, theater and dance performances of renewed national and international artists.
He relocated to Berlin, Germany in 2015, where he started moving his steps into the theater and dance scene of the city.
In 2017 he began his collaboration with the worldwide famous dance-theater company Sasha Waltz & Guests.
From 2019 he is the technical reference for the Educational and Community department of the company, and for their guest performances space “Studio A” in Radial System V.
In 2021 he joined the international theater company Familie Flöz as their sound and video regisseur, bringing their performances in tour across all Europe
